Washington Company Named Exporter of the Year by U.S. Export Promotion Magazine

(Spokane, WA) – UNITED COATINGS, a leading manufacturer of protective coatings for the construction industry, has been awarded a 2007 Exporter of the Year award from ThinkGlobal Inc., publisher of Commercial News USA, the official export promotion magazine of the U.S. Commerce Department.

Exporter of the Year awards were given to one U.S. company in each of 15 industry categories. UNITED COATINGS was named Exporter of the Year in the Building, Construction and Hardware category.

Winners were chosen based on the total number of documented export deals completed in 2005, total percentage of increased sales in 2005 compared to 2004, exports as a percentage of total sales, a company’s commitment to exporting and customer service, and the company’s innovation and originality in marketing products or services. To be eligible for the award, the company must currently be exporting from the United States.

UNITED COATINGS, headquartered in Spokane, WA, manufactures protective coatings for architectural, industrial, roofing, and do-it-yourself applications such as interior and exterior walls, potable water storage, wastewater treatment, new and existing roofs, and many others. UNITED COATINGS reported a 46% increase from 2004. Exports now represent over 20% of the company’s total sales.
